Adopt Me trading runs on community values rather than prices, and they move every time an egg retires or a pet goes neon. Look up any pet's current value, then check an offer in the trade calculator before you accept it.

Adopt Me is a pet collecting and roleplay game set on Adoption Island, running since 2017 and still one of the largest experiences on Roblox. Servers hold thirty-five players rather than the usual dozen, which is why it feels like a place rather than a match. You earn Bucks by looking after pets, spend them on eggs, hatch the eggs, and then either raise what comes out or trade it.

Nothing in the game sets a price. A pet is worth whatever the trading community currently accepts, and that shifts every time an egg retires, a pet is fused into a neon or an event closes. Adopt Me values tracks where each pet sits, the Adopt Me trade calculator weighs both halves of an offer, and Adopt Me codes covers whatever the game is currently handing out.

How to play Adopt Me

  1. Choose Baby rather than Parent when the game asks. Babies are paid for completing needs, and Bucks are the only free currency.
  2. Take the free Starter Egg from the Nursery and put it on a hatch pad for your first pet.
  3. Clear your pet's needs as they appear. Each one pays Bucks and ages the pet one stage closer to full grown.
  4. Spend early Bucks on the cheap eggs and keep every duplicate. Four full-grown copies of one pet make a neon.
  5. Pass the quiz in the Safety Hub for a trading licence before you try to trade anything at all.
  6. Trade only through the trade window, with both sides filled in, and read the offer before you confirm.

What actually builds an Adopt Me inventory

Babies out-earn parents
The role choice at the start is an income decision dressed up as a roleplay one. Babies complete needs and get paid for them; parents are the ones doing the paying.
Keep every duplicate
Four full-grown copies of the same pet fuse into a neon, and four neons make a mega. The commons nobody wants today are the raw material for the only pets that reliably gain value.
Age first, fuse second
Only full-grown pets go into the Neon Cave, so a box of newborns is four whole growth cycles away from being worth anything. Grow them alongside each other rather than one at a time.
Retired eggs only shrink
Once an egg leaves the game its pets stop entering circulation and supply can only fall. That is why legacy pets carry a premium the pets from current eggs never do.
Potions travel with the pet
Fly and Ride are applied to a pet and stay on it, so a Fly Ride pet is a different item from the same pet without them and is priced as one.
Learn the shorthand first
FR, NFR, MFR and FG describe exactly what is being offered. Agreeing to a trade you cannot read is how a mega neon quietly becomes an ordinary one.

Mistakes that cost new Adopt Me players

  • Arranging a trade outside the trade window because the licence quiz is in the way. Nothing outside that window is protected, and the quiz takes a couple of minutes.
  • Selling common pets for Bucks in the first week. Those duplicates are the cheapest neon anyone will ever build, and Bucks come back on their own.
  • Reading rarity as price. A common from a retired egg outprices plenty of legendaries, because supply stopped for one and not the other.
  • Using a middleman nobody vouched for. Adopt Me has no escrow, so a third party holding both halves of a trade is a stranger holding everything.
  • Pricing from an old video. Values move whenever an egg retires or an event ends, and a stale number is the most common reason a trade a player thought was even was not.

What players make of Adopt Me

Adopt Me carries the lowest like ratio of the games covered here, roughly 86 percent of about eleven million Roblox votes. That gap says something about who tries it rather than about how good it is: an enormous number of very young players open it once, and the ones who stay tend to stay for years.

The people who like it talk about the pets and the market. It is the closest thing Roblox has to a collectors' economy with most of a decade of history behind it, and legacy pets from long-retired eggs still change hands. The people who do not talk about how little there is to do between trades, and about scams, which are common enough that the game put a quiz in front of the trade window to slow them down.

Adopt Me trading slang

WFL
Win, fair or lose. Posted with an offer to ask whether it favours you.
FR / NFR / MFR
Fly Ride, Neon Fly Ride and Mega Fly Ride. Shorthand for a pet's potions and neon stage; a Fly Ride pet has both potions.
F / R
Fly or Ride on its own. Fly is the pricier potion, so an F pet is worth a touch more than an R one.
Neon
Four full-grown pets of the same kind fused at the Neon Cave. A neon lists as its own item.
Mega Neon
Four luminous neons fused into one pet that cycles through colours. The top form of any pet and usually the most valuable.
Full Grown
The last age stage. Only full-grown pets can be fused, so an FG pet carries a small premium over a newborn.
Legacy
A pet that can no longer be obtained, usually because its egg or event retired. Supply only shrinks from there.
Trading License
The in-game licence you need before you can trade. It is a short quiz in the Safety Hub.
OP
Overpay. Adding more than list value, usually because the other pet is in demand or is legacy.
NTY
No thank you. A polite decline.
HTT
Hard to trade. Listed value or not, few people want it.
NLF
Not looking for. Pets the trader does not want offered.

Adopt Me questions

How do you get Bucks fast in Adopt Me?

Play as a baby and clear every need the moment it appears, then take the daily rewards. There is no shortcut worth taking; the offers that promise one are the scams the safety quiz exists to warn about.

What is the rarest pet in Adopt Me?

The pets from retired eggs and finished events, because their supply stopped and cannot restart. The rarity printed on a pet is a hatch chance rather than a price, and the Adopt Me values list is where those two part company.

How do you make a neon pet in Adopt Me?

Four full-grown copies of the same pet, fused in the Neon Cave. Four neons of that same pet then fuse into a mega neon, which cycles through colours and sits at the top of the pet's price ladder.

Do you need a trading licence in Adopt Me?

Yes. It is a short quiz in the Safety Hub about spotting scams, and it has to be passed before the trade window will open for you.

Is Adopt Me still popular?

It is still one of the largest experiences on Roblox by concurrent players. The Adopt Me player count chart shows the shape of it over the last year rather than on the day you happen to ask.
